Houses, Flats & Apartments to Rent in Dollis Hill, London (NW2)
Dollis Hill, just seven miles north-west of Charing Cross, is an almost entirely residential area surrounding the 86-acre Gladstone Park. It hasn’t always been this way, though. This location used to be filled with research labs surrounding the North Circular Road, and was also home to Winston Churchill’s alternative Cabinet War Room bunker (although this was rarely used). Today, NW2 sits in the London Borough of Brent and is bordered by Willesden Green, Neasden and Cricklewood.
Flats & Apartments for Rent in Dollis Hill
There’s not a huge choice of flats available for rent in Dollis Hill, but those that are available are mainly converted terraces. You won’t find new-build apartment blocks here you will see period mansion flats and the occasional studio or maisonette.
Houses for Rent in Dollis Hill
Dollis Hill’s houses to rent are almost all 1920s semi-detached homes, with most plenty big enough for a family and with a garden. In the Old Town - the area around the tube station - you’ll find reams of red-bricked Edwardian terraces. Dollis Hill is a fairly grid-like neighbourhood in its design, so for every street of houses you spot, you can be fairly sure there’s another near-identical one behind it.
Dollis Hill Transport & Commute
Dollis Hill is a popular base for commuters as it’s well-connected. However, it’s far enough away that the hustle and bustle of the city can be truly left behind at the end of the working day. Dollis Hill tube station is on the Jubilee Line, and gets commuters to central London in about 15 minutes. Car ownership rates are high in Dollis Hill, with plenty of homes offering parking, and the North Circular and M1 nearby make it an easy drive elsewhere.
